Ministry of St. Paul's

The following is a compilation of the many ministries offered by St. Paul’s Church. You are encouraged to become a part of any of these ministries or make use of their services. In some cases leaders and volunteers are needed to help organize and carry out the ministry. If you feel a desire to lead or assist any of the ministries, please don’t hesitate to call and offer your time and ideas. All of our contact people are eager to add you to their ministry!

Altar Guild Teams 

Teams who prepare the altar area and church for each worship service. Duties include setting up the wine and wafers, candles, holy water, altar linens, priest’s robes, etc. Volunteers needed. Contact Nancy Brantly at 299-7026

Baptisms, Confirmation Classes, Counseling, Funerals, Membership Transfers & Weddings

Birthday & Anniversary 

A volunteer mails out birthday and anniversary cards to Greetings parishioners weekly.

Card Night 

On the second and fourth Wednesday of every month between September and May, parishioners are invited to play bridge or hearts immediately following the fellowship dinner.

Children’s Church 

Every Sunday at 10:30 a.m., Children’s Church is available for ages 3 through 12 years of age. Children enjoy relevant Bible lessons, music, and hands-on activities. They are reunited with their parents for communion in the church.

Choir 

Sing & lead worship during the Sunday 10:30 a.m. service and special events such as Advent Lesson’s & Carols and Christmas Eve services. Singers wanted!

Courtesy Calling 

This group calls our homebound members on a daily basis to check on their well-being.

Daughters of the King 

Women’s ministry of prayer and teaching that meets the third Sunday of the month from September through May in the Harding Room after the 8:00 a.m. service.

Flower Guild 

Teams responsible for weekly and special event flower arrangements as well as decorating the church for Easter and Christmas services. Volunteers needed.

Emergency Operations 

This committee compiles emergency information and reacts. Committee in a timely manner to assist our parishioners in disaster situations such as hurricanes. Volunteers needed.

Eucharistic Visitors 

Take Communion to our homebound and ill members. Volunteers needed.

Makes decisions on maintenance and upkeep of the church Committee garden.

Newcomer Committee 

Welcome visitors and new members to St. Paul’s. Provide information and visitor gifts. Help organize and decorate for annual luncheon. We need a leader and volunteers for this ministry.

Teams work together to keep the church pews stocked, straight, and clean.

Our senior group gets together for monthly luncheons and other events for fun, learning, and fellowship.

Saints in Action Trips 

Travel monthly with parishioners and friends of St. Paul’s Church to local places of interest as well as enjoy long distance trips once or twice a year.

Ushers & Greeters 

These volunteers bring forward communion and take up contributions as well as assist parishioners with their needs during the service. Their responsibility is to see that everyone is greeted and made to feel welcome. They will work closely with the Newcomer Committee to insure everyone finds a place in our church family.

Wednesday Night Fellowship

Women’s Bible Study Group 

Meets twice a month to pray, study the Bible, discuss Christian books, and fellowship together.

Worship Assistants 

Assist with weekly worship services as Sub Deacons (help with celebrating communion), Eucharistic (Communion) Ministers, Lectors (Readers), Chalice (Wine Cup) Bearers, Thurifers (Incense Carrier), and Acolytes ( Assist with various duties). Training available. Volunteers of all ages needed.

Computer Class
Tuesdays 9:30 - 11:00 and 11:00 - 12:30
Wednesdays 9:30 - 11:00 and 11:00 - 12:30
 
Beginners and intermediates welcome! Class topics cover computer basics,
digital photography, e- mailing, internet savvy, Vista, and much more. Call to find out current class subjects. Classes are only $5 per class for non members.

The Friendship Bible Study Group is a mixed group and meets the first and
third Mondays of each month at 9:30 a.m. in the Harding Room. Anyone who would like to attend is welcome!

Simply Social Suppers
Monthly suppers are being held at parishioners' homes. You may host a dinner or simply bring a dish and enjoy the fellowship. Sign up sheets are now posted in the church entrance. If you would like to sign up for the first time, please call so you can be added to the Social Supper mailing list.

"Walking in His Word" is a group of men and women who meet for prayer, look
at scriptures together, and share our faith stories. We meet the first and third Tuesdays of the month from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
